Today's racial climate is one of boldness.  The entitled have taken this forthright stance in our workplaces, churches and communities in America fostering a distinct division supported by the socio-economic systems in place against its most vulnerable citizens. Poor, working class and elderly people of color have already been victims of these systems which press on the necks of already beleaguered people.  The escalating instances of racial tension fueled by hate are now prevailing in today's society.  Jenelle Howard witnesses the increase of outright racism here in the 'Melting Pot', as she was raised to believe that any hard working American can achieve greatness and opportunity is for all.  As she gets older, she witnesses that this is sadly not the case. Law enforcement, employers and everyday citizens see us as criminals first, not as citizens.

This division weakens us as a nation.
